2. Learn how to navigate the Washington State Legislature website to find information about your district/legislators, pending bills, and upcoming timelines for important legislation.

Karen M. Sanders, PhD, ABPP/CN, is a board certified neuropsychologist through the American Board of Professional Psychology and a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology. She has 25+ years experience as a neuropsychologist working in clinical and academic settings. She is currently in private practice consulting at Swedish Neurosciences Institute and Northwest Hospital/UW. Her focus is on adults with neurological issues including CNS and Non-CNS cancer, cerebrovascular, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, dementia, movement disorders and others. She is also on medical staff at Swedish and UW/Northwest Hospital. She is a clinical assistant professor at UW School of Medicine/Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She obtained her doctorate from Brigham Young University. Her pre-doctoral training was at the University of Utah and she completed two post-doctoral years, one at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center and another year at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Erica Brandling-Bennett, PhD, ABPP, Dr. Brandling-Bennett is a board certified neuropsychologist through the American Board of Professional Psychology. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and neuroscience at Dartmouth College. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, which included an internship in clinical psychology at the University of Illinois, Chicago in the Department of Psychiatry. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology, with an emphasis in presurgical evaluation of patients with epilepsy, at the UCLA Semel Institute and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, where she served as Chief Fellow of the UCLA Medical Psychology Assessment Center. She earned board certification in clinical neuropsychology in 2009. For over 12 years, she worked as the senior clinical neuropsychologist at the UW Medicine – Valley Medical Center Neuroscience Institute.
